Gammons Farm, Watford
Gammons Lane's namesake farm from 1798 to suburban redevelopment.
Traces Gammons Farm off Gammons Lane from at least 1798, through tenant farmers including John Horncastle's celebrated dispute with the Earl of Essex over game damage, to its later use for allotments, housing, and a mobile-home site. The piece follows the farm's decline as a working holding while the farmhouse survived into the 1970s.
